Moonlight in Duneland Edited by: Ronald D. Cohen and Stephen G. McShane In 1925, Samuel Insull, new owner of the South Shore Line, launched an aggressive marketing campaign producing booklets, movies, and in particular a set of fifty colorful, artistic posters, which attracted many from Illinois to the sand dunes and steel mills of Northwest Indiana. Moonlight in Duneland tells the story of that poster campaign through the reproduction of the thirty-eight known surviving posters. Additional advertising items from the 1920's and 1970's are sprinkled throughout the book, along with original art by Dale Fleming, Mitchell Markovitz, Alice Phillips and John Rush. The book and essays by William D. Middleton, Bob Harris, and John Paul Laue pay tribute to eras gone by and trace a new growth period of the Calumet Region. 160 pages, 24 illustrations, 65 color photos, 10 x 13 $39.95 plus $6.50 shipping and handling per book Available at: THE FRAMING STATION 912 Franklin Street Michigan City, IN 46360 To order: Phone: 219-879-2115 Toll Free: 877-879-2115 We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover on telephone orders
